I spent Wednesday visiting with several of our enterprise customers at their offices. I find these face to face meetings very enjoyable and informative: in person is always a better exchange than by phone
One of the recurring themes for the day was Nokia. Many of the companies I met with happened to be using Check Point on Nokia appliances and they have questions about how, when, and if to proceed on dealing with the potential changes. I was pleased that the advice provided during the face to face meetings was able to directly help out with planning that was underway.
A short while back we published a First Take on the proposed sale of the Nokia security appliance unit here.
If you are a Gartner customer using Nokia security appliances, please don’t hesitate to contact me via our Customer Service Organization to schedule an inquiry (+1 203 316 1200 or security.advisor at gartner.com*). I am also working on a short follow-up research note to provide more advice than we provided in the First Take.
*As part of blogging etiquette I am weakly obfuscating the email address to spare my colleagues some spam.
