Communicating NetSec

Getting your message across in the IT security is hard.  IT is technical, and security is a cost center and usually gets in the way. The industry has tried analogies, FUD, video games, and even sometimes some farce with not good results.  In the newer media, most of the web examples are not good (i.e. bad).  A quick watch of the resulting samples YouTube using a search on "network security" or "firewall" is a testament to the difficulty of getting a message across in this market.  Videos of screen captures of command line configurations… a scared-looking CTO in front of white boards speaking in a monotone …. a hyperventilating interviewer with really perfect hair speaking to a scared-looking CTO in front of a whiteboard…

But after all that eye-pain, I found this example of a security video that held my attention.  And as a testament to the quality, the voiceover is in a language I don’t understand, but I got the message.  Brilliant.
