Select one of the following:
A. When your business partners groan when they see you
B. When it will cost more to improve than you will get in benefit
C. When you are on vacation
D. All the above
Give it some thought and don’t peek!
The answer is D. So why is that relevant – what the heck do vacations have to do
with process improvement. Since I’m on one I’ve learned – absolutely nothing! I’m on
island time and I have not tried to reinvent the ferry operation, streamline the car rental
process and have not even rearranged the deck chairs. When it’s perfect you will know
it.
For my loyal readership I am lazin’ in St. John USVI. Taking a mental break from
improving everything is necessary. It gives one perspective. Some things just don’t
need improvement.
Well, there is one thing. I scuba dive normally, but was snorkeling today. The reefs are
dead – it was an like an underwater neutron bomb went off – the fish were there but not
much else. It was so sad. So I have committed to help continuing to improve the world
we don’t normally see. So I guess answer D was wrong.
Have a wonderful week.
