Speaking at Gartner Catalyst Conference 2014

by Anton Chuvakin  |  June 12, 2014  |  1 Comment

For those attending Gartner Catalyst Conference 2014, the main event run by Gartner GTP (San Diego, CA on August 8-11, 2014), here is what I am presenting:

Threat Assessment in the Age of APT

Use threat intelligence, perform threat assessment, and build defenses versus advanced threats, using intelligence approaches in security.

  • How can you learn about new and existing threats and attack methods?
  • How do you monitor your infrastructure and applications?
  • What should your security organization look like?

Tooling Up for Incident Response With Network Forensics and Endpoint Visibility

Preparing for advanced security incident response and deploying new tools for environment visibility and analysis.

  • How can I increase my ability to correlate events, detect attacks and abuse, and manage response workflows?
  • How do I assess the security of endpoints?
  • How can I learn about new and existing threats and attack methods?

Also, I am leading two roundtables at the event:

Whiteboarding Roundtable: Building DDoS Defense Architecture

This session covers today’s distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, their evolution and enterprise DDoS defense architecture and practices for both the website and the data center.

  • What are the most-effective technologies and best practices to protect applications and to detect fraudulent use?
  • How can you learn about new and existing threats and attack methods?

Roundtable: How to Design Security Monitoring

This session reveals monitoring methods for SaaS and IaaS environments and covers emerging tools for SaaS security monitoring.

  • How do IT organizations devise a cloud security strategy?
  • How do IT organizations manage security and control risks in the public cloud?
  • How can you monitor what is going on outside of your enterprise?

The event is probably the best way to experience the research done by the entire Gartner for Technical Professionals (GTP), and not just by our team [security]. See you in San Diego!
