Recently I have been asked frequently whether I am attending the Gartner PCC Conference June 8-10 in Orlando FL and, if so, what will I be doing.
Here is a link to my sessions.
I’m psyched about unveiling my new framework for building an enterprise strategy for social software solutions. I have been working on this for the past 8 months and it will guide the bulk of my research in 2009.
I’m also co-presenting a social software solutions best-practices session with Nikos Drakos focusing on quick and flexible success.
I’m co-presenting with Ray Valdes on how portals and mashups are evolving and how organizations are applying the principles of Web Oriented Architecture (WOA) to bring the scalability, agility, and flexibility of the web to their enterprise applications.
I’m teaming up with two other analysts during the Cool Vendors session where each of us will champion two cool vendors and the audience will determine the “coolest.”
Finally, I’ll be facilitating two user round table discussions on successful practices with Web 2.0 and enterprise mashups.
Considering that in my spare time at the conference I will be taking 1-on-1 sessions with clients, it should be a very busy and rewarding conference.

Anthony, there are a lot of interesting things here. I think a good topic on the portal side is how many customers started with Web 2.0 within their Web 1.0 portal. It’s a common pattern to try to force fit new technologies into current technologies, but only to be unpleasantly surprised that your current technology stack is overkill.

Ray and I talk some on that point in the portals and mashups pitch.
