At Gartner Symposium in Orlando This Week

October 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I’m presenting at Gartner’s Fall Symposium Event in Orlando this week. I’ve got three presentations.

The first on Monday morning in all about getting radical business value out of social software. Its focus is on best practices for designing and building high impact social applications vs. providing a social software tool and praying something good comes of it (i.e., the provide and pray strategy :-) )

The second is on the impact of social software on the enterprise with a focus on how customer relationship management and e-commerce is changing because of it. I am co-presenting with Gene Alvares.

Finally, on Thursday morning I am presenting on my new Gartner Framework: Building a SOA Business Case. This is a very robust framework that was a year in the making. You might call this my research “masterpiece” for 2008. I do :-) I just submitted the accompanying draft research paper to my analyst peers for review and I hope to publish it by end of month.

I welcome any comments here on my presentations from those that attend.

    Anthony,

I attended your session today on getting radical business value from Web 2.0 social applications and found it to be excellent. For me, I would say it was the session of the day. We are in the early stages of implementing many of these types of applications and I found your best practices and advice very useful. I look forward to reading your blog and research in this area more in the future.
