Now That’s TV 2.0: Hacking the Debate

Now that’s a TV 2.0 experience

No matter what side of the aisle you sit on, you have to point to Twitter and Current TV as two of the real winners of the VP debate. By combining a live stream of the debate with a Twitter feed, the net result was a steady stream of “Tweets” across the bottom of the computer screen that were funny, insightful or just plain crazy.

Whoever dreamed this hack up cast some light into how you can successfully fuse social media together with incumbent broadcast television. Compelling content plus meaningful audience interactivity equals true “interactive television.”

    I LOVE this. I hope they show the last debate; I’m going to check it out. I so dig the twitter election site; to have that sort of content scrolling would be nerd nirvana for me…
